Heads of KFF and PFLK discuss a preliminary plan for the resumption of competitions and other joint projects

The meeting took place at the Football House and was attended by the heads of departments and KFF General Secretary, Azamat Aitkhozhin, as well as the PFLK President, Olzhas Abrayev.

The General Secretary of the Kazakhstan Football Federation, Azamat Aitkhozhin:

“The world community is going through difficult times now. The COVID-19 outbreak is impeding the full activity of many associations and organizations including the national federations of various sports. The vast majority of them have suspended competition.

Since the start of the pandemic, KFF management has regularly consulted with colleagues from FIFA, UEFA and PFLK.

Along with this, online videocall meetings with our international partners took place. The results of these negotiations were published on official websites and in the social networks of KFF and PFLK. But, apparently, there was a need to once again draw attention to the work done by this time.

Of course, Kazakhstan fans and competitors are interested in how the performance of our national and club teams will resume. Based on this, I want to recall the current state of affairs:

- All matches of the Kazakhstan football, futsal and beach soccer national teams, coinciding with the pandemic, have been postponed and will take place after further notifications from UEFA, FIFA and BSWW;

- All matches of the Kazakhstan football, futsal and beach soccer championships, competitions and cup tournaments among the professional and amateur clubs, coinciding with the pandemic, have been postponed and will take place after the state of emergency is lifted in the country;

- KFF and PFLK are considering two options to update the OLIMPBET Championship of Kazakhstan. The main one is holding competitions in two circles. The second option is to hold the current season in the Autumn-Spring season. The resumption of the Kazakhstan Cup, as well as the championships of Kazakhstan among the teams of the First and Second League, also involves a number of developed options.

- After quarantine is canceled, participants in domestic tournaments will be notified of their resumption dates. Teams and referees will get a two-week period for pre-season training sessions.

In conclusion, I want to inform you that, from May 2020, KFF employees are planning to start their work. Until May, the work will be performed online. Annual leave was granted to the federation employees out of schedule and by agreement of the parties.

Following the extension of the state of emergency, a regular meeting of the KFF and PFLK leaders took place. On the agenda was a preliminary plan for the resumption of competitions and other joint projects. For example, educational projects and that which is aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle. Details will be announced upon completion of the analytical work and soon expected recommendations of UEFA and FIFA.
